Abstract
The reaction of pyridine-2-thiol with 2-vinylpyridine under reflux con ditions affords a new asymmetric thioether, 1,3-bis(2-pyridyl)-1-thiap ropane (bpt), which reacts readily with [Mo(CO)3(MeCN)3] in MeCN to gi ve fac-[Mo(bptXCO)3]. The last compound has been characterised by hete ronuclear NMR spectroscopy and by an X-ray crystal structure determina tion.
