The essence of the concept Of <<psychological mechanism of the creativ
e tasks solving>> was analyzed. This mechanism was formed in anthropog
enesis; the possibility and the degree of its development is inherent
in each person. Its development is not spontaneous, but depends on the
influence of the ways of knowledge acquisition and is limited by pers
on's age. The most developed form of this mechanism is the ability to
operate in mind. The differences between this ability itself and skill
s, based on it, e. g., the skill to organize stepwise formed mental op
erations were shown.
