We have used photographic spectroscopy of a recoil-ion source to perfo
rm a measurement of the vacuum ultra-violet 1s2s3S1-1s2p3P2,0 transiti
on wavelengths in heliumlike argon. The results are 559.95 +/- 0.02 an
gstrom and 661.58 +/- 0.002 angstrom respectively. This measurement co
nstitutes a sensitive test of current relativistic and quantum electro
dynamic calculations.
