Abstract
Absorption spectra of F(A) centres were studied in Li-doped KCl-KBr an d KCl-RbCl mixed crystals. In KCl-KBr, light-induced spectral shifts w ere observed at liquid nitrogen temperature, for the F(A1) band toward s lower energy and for the F(A2) band towards higher energy. The shift s are thought to be due to structural change where the electron-occupi ed vacancy finds a new location in relation to the neighbouring chlori ne and bromine ions.
