Abstract
We are concerned with the influence of magnetostriction on the hystere tic behaviour of ferromagnetic materials. The analysis is based on the theory of micromagnetism, and the continuum theory of elastic ferroma gnetic insulators proposed by Maugin and Tiersten. Numerical integrati on of the Brown's equations lead to estimation of the magnetization, d isplacement and stress distributions in the material with infinite cir cular cylinder's shape, when the mode of reversal is supposed to be cu rling.
