We consider the stochastic behaviour of a tandem queue in the case of
a renewal arrival process and arbitrarily distributed identical succes
sive service times. Immediately after being served at a given stage, t
he customer enters the queue of unlimited capacity for service at the
next stage. Service discipline is ''first come-first served''. In part
icular, we derive the probability distribution of the overall sojourn
time.
