In this paper we analyze the main parameters of the electrodermal orie
nting response curve (=GSR). Data from 300 individual galvanic skin re
sponse curves, obtained from 300 adult males, were submitted to statis
tical analyses. Both clustering and factoring yielded clearly the same
three factors, see Latency, Temporal course, and Amplitudinal size, a
ccounting together for 84.6 per cent of the total variance. Typologica
l aspects from preliminary analyses promise rich possibilities for app
lying such typologies of the GSR to the early detection and prevention
of neuropsychological damages resulting from subliminal long-term env
ironmental hazards.
