An increase in radiation-induced chromosomal aberrations during c-meta
phase sister chromatid disjunction was demonstrated in murine bone mar
row cells exposed to a total gamma-irradiation at 0.5 and 1.5 Gy. Caff
eine (Cf) treatment during mitosis partially suppressed of the chromat
id disjunction rate and increased the number of radiation-induced aber
rations in this mitosis. Nalidixic acid (NA) treatment of c-metaphase
cells completely suppressed chromatid disjunction and the realization
of induced aberrations. Topoisomerase 2 was assumed to be involved dur
ing mitosis in both processes.
