INHERITANCE OF MENTAL TRAITS IN FAMILIES OF SCHIZOPHRENICS AND USE OFTHESE TRAITS FOR DISEASE RISK-ESTIMATION

This paper is devoted to the problem of the search for psychological i ndicators of genetic predisposition to schizophrenia. Results of a psy chological investigation of patients, their relatives, and individuals without a family history of mental disease are described. Primary att ention was paid to the genetic analysis of pathological traits. Mechan isms of development of mental abnormalities predisposing individuals t o schizophrenia and possibilities of their use in disease prevention a re discussed.
