Abstract
A practical algorithm is presented to obtain a reliable estimation of Lyapunov exponents from a time series signal of plasma chaos. In parti cular, the effect of inevitable experimental noise on the computation of Lyapunov exponents has been investigated. A full Lyapunov-exponent spectrum has been achieved to confirm transition from quasiperiodicity to chaos in a plasma.
