The low-frequency electrical resistivity of both liquid and solid gall
ium has been measured at several temperatures about the melting transi
tion (T(m) = 302.8 K), for frequencies comprised between 80 Hz and 100
kHz. The results regarding the frequency dependence of this quantity
in the liquid phase are rationalized in terms of the hydrodynamic limi
t of the dynamic structure factors which has been recently discussed w
ith the help of an effective potential derived from direct inversion o
f the experimental S(Q) static structure factor. Finally the relevance
of the present results regarding recent efforts directed towards the
understanding of electronic transport properties of nonsimple liquid m
etals is briefly discussed.
