S. Wais et R. Sussmuth, SIMULTANEOUS ANALYSIS OF NITRATE, NITRITE, ACETATE AND 3-HYDROXYBUTYRATE BY HPLC, Journal of microbiological methods, 19(3), 1994, pp. 215-222
A HPLC-method for a simultaneous analysis of nitrate, nitrite, acetate
and 3-hydroxybutyrate in a wide range of concentrations was developed
. The paired ion chromatography is based on the method by H. Papen et
al. [1]. The ranges of detectable concentrations were for nitrate and
nitrite 0.05-300 mg/l, for acetate 10-1000 mg/l and for 3-hydroxybutyr
ate 10-2000 mg/l. The substances were detected with a dual wave UV-det
ector. Nitrate and nitrite were detected at two different wave-lengths
(210 and 240 nm). Acetate and 3-hydroxybutyrate were detected at 210
nm. The method was not influenced by large amounts of phosphate, ammon
ium sulfate, magnesium sulfate and trace elements.
