Abstract
Exact values of the critical field E(c) are calculated for a hydrogen atom, including the case of the ground state. The widths GAMMA(n) of S tark resonances at E = E(c) are also calculated. In the above-barrier region (E > E(c)) the widths GAMMA(n)(E) are essentially linear functi ons of the electric field strength.
