Abstract
Surface parametric (quasi-Cherenkov) optical radiation of a relativist ic charged particle, moving close to the surface of a spatially period ic medium, is considered. The spectral-angular distribution and polari zation characteristics of the radiation are found. The possibility of experimental observation of the radiation described is discussed.
