The partition of sulfur between sodalite and the fluid at temperatures
of 600-800 degrees C and 3 kbar pressure was studied experimentally.
Sulfur enriches sodalite relative to the fluid over the entire composi
tional range of sodalite. The sulfur partition between sodalite and th
e fluid is not ideal. The partition coefficients do not depend on temp
erature. The experimental data are used to obtain a relation between t
he sulfur mole fraction in the fluid [X(S)(fl) = S/(S + Cl)] and the s
odalite composition:(sic).
