Abstract
A 5'-flanking region (-2024 to +61) of the guinea pig liver transgluta minase gene and some 5'-deletion mutants were tested for promoter acti vity in human hepatoblastoma HepG2 cells treated with interleukin-6 (I L-6) by an assay of the transient expression of the chloramphenicol ac etyltransferase reporter gene. The promoter activity of the 5'-flankin g region introduced into the HepG2 cells was increased by IL-6.
