The product of a solid solution reaction of C-60 and AsF5 in liquid SO
2 is reported. The change of weight of the C-60 by the reaction indica
tes that there is (AsF5)(x)C-60 with x = 1.88 +/- 0.04. Mass spectrosc
opy identifies the AsF5 and C-60. The x-ray diffraction is distinctly
different from that of C-60 and can be indexed with a body-centered-te
tragonal unit cell. The infrared spectrum has an absorption at 702 cm(
-1) which is not present in C-60.
