Abstract
Optical second-harmonic generation from a C-60 thin film was used to m onitor the orientational phase transition. A jump in second-harmonic i ntensity was observed around 245 K. This observation is in good agreem ent with the results obtained from infrared and Raman spectroscopy fro m C-60 films. The different response of C-60 films in the two phases i s analyzed and tentatively explained.
