Abstract
The misicibility of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with poly(methyl acryla te) (PMA) is demonstrated by using the Prigogine-Flory theory in Patte rson's approximation. Negative values of enthalpy of mixing, contact-e nergy term and interaction parameter were obtained for the blend with 75/25 weight ratio. The temperature dependence of chi12/V1 indicates that PEO-PMA mixtures are miscible in the liquid state over the access ible temperature range.
