Two-component kinks and their small-amplitude bound states (breathers)
in a nonlinear DNA model have been found. We consider breathers as ef
fective energy and information carriers along biological macromolecule
chains. The velocity of the localized solutions that have been found
is a single-valued function of the model parameters. For a special cho
ice of parameter values the model possesses two-component N-soliton so
lutions.
