Abstract
Mixed metal carboxylate glasses have recently been developed, and it i s shown that these are good hosts for Culex quinquefasciatus ovipositi on pheromone. The glasses degrade in a humid environment, releasing th e volatile pheromone in a controlled fashion. Successful aerial releas e of the pheromone was demonstrated in an oviposition choice bioassay, showing both time and dose relationships. The glasses alone did not a ffect the behavioural responses of the mosquitoes.
