Composition of tomato juice from five new tomato hybrids and one new n
on-hybrid cultivar was compared with that of standard processing varie
ty, 'Punjab Chhuhara', grown under Punjab conditions as main season cr
op. Among the varieties tested, three hybrids ('NH-15, 'NH-25', 'NH-32
25') and one non-hybrid ('1-7-1-1') were found superior as compared to
'Punjab Chhuhara', with respect to total soluble solids, lycopene, ac
idity and pectin contents.
