Abstract
The following compounds: TlBrCl2.2L, TlICl2.3L, TlBr2Cl.2L, TlIBr2.2L, TlI2Cl.2L, TlI2Br.2L, TlI2Br.3L, and TlIBrCl.2L (where L = 1-methyl-2 -phenylimidazole) have been prepared and characterized by elemental an alyses. All the solids are monomers and they behave as non-electrolyte s in solution. Their H-1 NMR and IR spectra are discussed, especially the Tl-X stretching vibration modes, and possible molecular structures for the complexes are proposed.
