C. Rushfeldt et D. Martenson, COMPUTER-BASED FILING OF NOTES - DATABASES FOR SYSTEMATIZING NOTES FROM MEDICAL STUDIES - AN AID TO STUDYING AND A TOOL IN MEDICAL-PRACTICE, Medical teacher, 16(2-3), 1994, pp. 229-235
The use of databases as a method for systematizing notes from lectures
and other sources has been developed for medical students. As distinc
t from other medical databases this program only offers the frames nec
essary for the students to enter their notes. Through the adaptation t
hat occurs when entering the notes to the database, an active and comp
rehensive elaboration of the notes is required. These notes could then
at any time easily be used for systematic revisions and meaningful co
mbining by using the facilities for retrieval and comparing in the pro
gram. Thus the database is facilitating efficient learning. In medical
practice later on this sort of archive could be further extended and
edited, hence serving as a medical database and a diagnostic tool.
