Abstract
A polarization fluoroimmunoassay was developed for the detection of ph encyclidine in urine and the reagents were adapted for use on the Abbo tt TDx analyser. The assay was used to look for evidence of phencyclid ine abuse, over a 6 month period, amongst patients attending drug abus e clinics in the East End of London. Although over 2000 patients' samp les tested negative, the assay sucessfully detected phencyclidine in a n external quality control scheme.
