The faradaic transfer behaviour of the charged species formed in the s
ystem of Cd2+ and some other divalent metal ions extracted by 1,2-dich
loroethane with quinolin-8-ol (HQ) as complexing agent was examined el
ectrochemically. It follows from the experimental findings that after
the HQ distributes from the organic into the aqueous phase, M(DQ)(2)(2
+) and neutral species are formed there and the former is involved in
the faradaic transfer process from the aqueous to the organic phase.
