Abstract
Mean concentrations and mass accumulation rates of the terrigenous mat erial for Cretaceous-Neogene sediments of the North Atlantic were calc ulated. The stages of the terrigenous sedimentation are defined. Main parameters of terrigenous sedimentation in the Indian Ocean and the No rth Atlantic are determined by a global rythm of continents denudation connected with sea level fluctuations. The dilution by siliceous - ca rbonate material plays a subordinate role. The significance of regiona l geological factors is relatively low.
