The paper reports on a theoretical calculation of the magnon and phono
n contributions to heat capacity of the multisublattice antiferromagne
ts La2CuO4 and CuCl2.2H2O, the former being the basic compound of a hi
gh-T(c) superconductor. It has been shown that it is only in the forme
r that the contribution of exchange magnons to heat capacity at low te
mperatures is comparable with that of acoustic magnons which results f
rom the quasi-two-dimensionality of its magnetic subsystem. Heat capac
ity of La2CuO4 was measured in the range 4.5-25 K, and specific featur
es associated with the magnon contribution were revealed.
