Abstract
The 3-roll conical tube piercing process has been investigated experim entally using marked wax billets for a r sic of plug profiles, feed an gles, plug advances and billet/gorge diameter ratios. A general correl ation is demonstra sic between the level of redundant strain and the g eometric characteristics of the pass, and optimum conditions to minimi se the level of redundancy are identified.
