Abstract
The LEicester Finite Element model for Rolling (LEFER), presented in t his paper, has been developed to predict strain, strain rate, stress a nd temperature distributions during hot rolling of steels and aluminiu m alloys. The model has also been extended to include a constitutive m odel with a strain function, which depends on the strain, strain rate, stress and temperature, so that material data are used directly in th e computations. As an application of this model, the laboratory hot ro lling of AA1200 aluminium alloy has been modelled to compare with temp erature measurements and visioplasticity data.
