Abstract
Terrestrial small mammals from a transition between Valdivian temperat ure rainforest and Patagonian steppe were collected over a two and a h alf year period. Here I summarize some recent research on fourteen spe cies from this region, and provide information on field identification , natural history, population structure, and reproduction in these spe cies.
