Abstract
A new type polarimeter was designed to detect the polarized hard X-ray s from stellar objects. The performance was investigated by computer s imulations based on the characteristics of the polarimeter. The simula tions showed that the minimum detectable polarization of the hard X-ra ys from Crab Nebula was about 13% for balloon observation of 2 hours. We report the design and the characteristics of the new type polarimet er, and the estimation of the detection of the polarized hard X-rays f rom Crab Nebula.
