Abstract
In many instances, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become the ini tial imaging modality in the evaluation of the spine. The authors pres ent a broad review of the MRI features of the major disease processes which can involve the spine. Disk disease, failed back syndrome, infec tious spondylitis, epidural abscess,and neoplastic disease are all dis cussed.
