Education activity is becoming complex and planning its development mo
re difficult. This complexity is pronounced in developing countries su
ch as Kenya, where a population explosion is imminent. In order to stu
dy this phenomenon, mathematical modelling was applied as a means of i
mproving the Kenya primary education system. The suggested stochastic
model and in particular the homogenous Markov chain model provides ind
ication for the future expected pupil enrollment, requirement of staff
and capital and pupil performance in the national examinations.
