Abstract
The synthesis of the valuable terpenic synthon 2-acetyl-3,3-dimethylbi cyclo[2.2.1]hept-5-tene is clearly improved concerning the yield and e specially the reaction time by applying ultrasound on the Diels-Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene with mesityl oxide. A new synthesis of deh ydrocamphene and its odour impression is described.
