Ferromagnetic Al61Ge18Mn21 and Al40Cu10Ge25Mn25 quasicrystals are prod
uced by the melt spinning technique. The high coercivity in these mate
rials is investigated by analyzing the hysteresis behavior of both as-
quenched and annealed samples. The highest coercive field can be obser
ved for the crystallized materials after a well defined heat treatment
