Abstract
In an analytical way we derive an asymptotic expression for the RKKY i nteraction in a system with modulation of the free electron density of the CDW type. Contrary to the ordinary F(2k(F)r) range function in th e isotropic system, we find that the spatial dependence of the exchang e integral in our system is anisotropic and is modulated with the 4k(F ) wavevector. Analogies with the RKKY interaction in synthetic multila yers are discussed.
