Abstract
We present experimental evidence of the strong sensitivity of the gain to the phase relation of the input waves for subharmonic generation b y parametric mixing of orthogonally polarized waves in BaTiO3. A twofo ld difference between the sensitivity to modulation of the pump-wave p hase and the sensitivity to modulation of the signal-wave phase is dem onstrated.
