Abstract
The influence of gamma-irradiation upon the second order phase transit ion in TGSe and the first order phase transition in DTGSe(x = 0.62) cr ystals was studied by means of specific heat measurements. It is shown that gamma-irradiation induced defects change the thermodynamical beh avior of both crystals and the Landau expansion coefficient becomes a function of the defects concentration. It was revealed that the order of the phase transition in the DTGSe crystal changes for D = 300 KR. T he full picture of both crystals' evolution was presented and analyzed in the framework of the Landau theory with its development for defect ed crystals.
