In a beam foil experiment the angular distribution less-than-or-equal-
to\+/- 6-degrees\ of convoy electrons and of the protons were measured
for ion energies between 100 and 300 keV. Al foils of 50 nm thickness
were used. It was found that the number of emitted convoy electrons d
epends only weakly on the exit angle while the ion current decreases b
y more than two orders of magnitude with increasing scattering angle.
By coincidence measurements for different emission directions a low co
rrelation between ions and electrons was observed. Therefore, it was c
oncluded that most of the convoy electrons are scattered away from the
ion beam and do not form pairs with the ions.
