The paper presents the liquid-liquid thermal transfer in a highly comp
act heat exchanger. The heat exchanger used, having the inlet-outlet c
ompartments made up of stainless steel and the plates of aluminium, ma
kes possible to recover the heat, in laminar regime, at low power leve
ls (low driving power). Based on the data got in an experimental set-u
p, an equation was proposed, its coefficients being determined by mult
iple linear regression (Nu=aRe(m)Pr(n)). The values got for the transf
er coefficients recommend this type of heat exchanger for all fields w
here heat must be taken over at a low energy consumption for fluids pu
mping, the temperature differences between the hot and cold fluid bein
g small.
