Abstract
UV-vis absorption spectra of mixtures of phenylsilane C6H5SiH3 and iod ine in solutions of CDCl3, CHCl3, CH2Cl2, CCl4, c-C6H12 and C6H14 indi cate that both iodination of phenylsilane and formation of charge-tran sfer complexes between the two components is strongly enhanced in pola r chlorohydrocarbons. A unique deuterium solvent effect on the positio n of the maximum absorption of the C-T complex is observed.
