Abstract
Kinetic studies on the substitution reactions of [Fe2S2Cl3(NCMe)](-) w ith the nucleophiles L = Br- or RS(-) (R = Et or But) to form [Fe2S2Cl 3](2-) show that the rate of the reaction is inhibited by increasing t he concentration of the nucleophile; this is a consequence of L bindin g to the iron atom not undergoing substitution.
