Abstract
The first total synthesis of Furoscrobiculin B is accomplished by cons truction of the azuleno[6,7-c]furan ring system by base catalysed pina col-type rearrangement of isonaphthofuran derivative, prepared from su itably functionalized hydrobenzofuran by use of the Furan Ring Transfe r (FRT) reaction.
