EUTHANASIA AND DEATH WITH DIGNITY - STILL POISED ON THE FULCRUM OF HOMICIDE

This article questions whether the law of homicide is an appropriate m echanism to adjudicate the humanitarian issues involved in voluntary e uthanasia; particularly where painful protracted dying appears inheren tly more harmful than euthanasia. The author suggests that even if eut hanasia can provide death with dignity this will not be achieved while the law requires the undignified criminalisation of the practitioner.
