Abstract
Irreducible unitary representations of the three first jet (or Leibniz ) extensions G(m)(k) of a compact group G are studied, focusing on the neighborhood of the trivial representation. Some associated irreducib le unitary (continuous tenser product) representations of the gauge (o r current) groups of mappings from a Riemannian manifold into G(m)(k) are described.
