Abstract
Transient one dimensional conduction in a slab during direct resistanc e and induction heating is studied analiticaly. Solutions are caried o ut simultaneously because of their similarity. Effect of applied curre nt frequecy on the temperature variation is discussed. Advantages of d irect resistance heating and induction heating for certain industrial applications are pointed out.
