Abstract
The electrochemical oxidation of 2-phenyl-1.2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one s and related compounds in acetonitrile solution was studied by voltam metry using a rotating platinum electrode, cyclic voltammetry, control led potential coulometry and electrolysis. Further oxidation of studie d compounds gave the corresponding sulfoxide. Comparison of the cyclic compound and related open-chain compounds was discussed.
