Abstract
Based on mathematical morphology, a novel optical scheme for the real- time preprocessing (removing noise and thinning) of interference fring es has been developed. Three kinds of original interferograms are proc essed and clear and thin interference fringes have been obtained. The greatest advantage of the scheme is that the preprocessing of fringes can be realized parallelly.
