Abstract
This article focuses on those disorders traditionally considered as em boli and includes fat embolism, air embolism, tumor embolism, and amni otic fluid embolism. These entities, as well as other unusual embolic events, are uncommon disorders that occur in specific circumscribed cl inical settings. The authors attempt to provide the readers with a cog nitive jolt to remind the reader to consider these unusual events in a ppropriate differential diagnosis.
